Hiking

Selva Escondida is a tropical rainforest property with Mother Nature on full display. You'll be able to explore wildlife without having to drive anywhere. We maintain a private trail system as follows:\r\n

Sunrise walk on concrete roads in flip flops with you cup of coffee in hands
Moderate 30 minutes hike up to the Mirador lookout
Advance 90 minutes hike to the Mirador and to Cascada Sofia

\r\nThe hike is complimentary with our staff. Please plan on leaving a tip.\r\n\r\nHydrate yourself before the hike!\r\n

CamelBak/hydration pack/water bottle
Good cotton socks
Hat
Light long pants
Short sleeve shirts that won't catch on branches.
Sunglasses (you don't need them for the Mirador & Cascada Sofia as you will be in the jungle)

\r\nThe best hiking shoes are rubber fireman/rain boots that cost ~$20 at the local hardware store and Villa Chill also keeps some extra boots. Tennis shoes are fine during dry season.\r\n\r\nHiking Selva Escondida is a great work out immersed in one of Earth's prettiest paradises.

Cooking Services

Hiring a chef can be quite expensive in the area. We know a local chef that cooks Tico meals. It is best to make reservations as early as possible.

Grocery Services

Give us a list of grocery and it will be there as you arrive at Villa Chill. Each trip to the supermarket is $30.
