Scala is an amazing gourmet fusion restaurant at Escaleras Village.
Sibu is a modern cafe open for breakfast, lunch & dinner at Escaleras Village.
Jolly Roger is a good local bar/restaurant as they’re located right below our front gate. Their troubadour wings or perhaps the Jolly Burger are our favorite. They also have pizzas and salads. The beer is always cold and there’s always a surprising crowd for being in the middle of the rainforest. They are opened everyday at 4pm. Reserve a table of you are a big group. And bring cash.

Dominical (15 minutes north)
Por Que No at the Costa Paraiso Hotel is one of the few restaurants right on the beach. While you wait for food, walk to the edge of a dramatic coast complete with waves crashing and sunsets. To get there drive down the hill from our place to main highway, then turn right, just before Dominical you’ll see their sign somewhat hidden on the left side. Turn left and drive down 10 meters or so.

Roca Verde is our Friday night hangout for their live music. We like to arrive early to get a bigger table at the back.
Tortilla Flats in Dominical is a great place on the beach where there’s usually a crowd of locals & surfers.
El Coco is less crowded and you can get a decent casado for the right price overlooking the beach.
Uvita (15 minutes south)
The Baker Bean, on the right side of the road as you are about to arrive in Uvita is where we like to buy fresh empanadas.
Ojochal (40 minutes south – offers some fine dining and great French bakery in case you’re in need of espressos & croissants)
Exotica is a charming place owned by a French Canadian couple.
Ylang Ylang is an authentic Indonesian gourmet restaurant.
Citrus has great ambiance.
